Oread in the World
The Oread like the Aasimar, Ifrit, Sylphs, and Undine are chosen by the gods, gifted with powers most can’t dream of. They are extremely rare, no more than a dozen born in a century. When a Oread is born the people view this as a sign that momentous events are in the offing. As a consequence they tend to be loved, protected, outcast, and hated. Loved and sometimes protected by worshippers of Tythonious or those that love artifice, outcast by those that can’t seem to understand them or accept their differences, and hated by those that still worship evil and wish for nothing more than the corruption of everything working to balance the world.
Oread are individuals with much in common to the Aasimar, Ifrit, Sylphs, and Undine. Like them they have a spark of the divine within, but theirs comes from the very personification of Earth and Artifice, Tythonious. Like the aforementioned Aasimar, Ifrit, Sylphs, and Undine; the Oread can be born of any parents. They tend to be close to human is size and proportion, baring only the faintest of indications of their birth parentage. In addition they also seem to have earth toned flesh – shades of gray, brown, black, or white. In some cases Oreads’ stone-like traits are so strong that they leave no question as to their nature, with growths like rocky outcroppings protruding from their skin or hair like crystalline spikes. Oread tend to be stoic and contemplative, slow to anger but terrible when roused. Outside of combat, they tend to be quiet, dependable, and protective of their friends.
