Sylphs in the World

The Sylphs like the Aasimar, Ifrit, Oread, and Undine are chosen by the gods, gifted with powers most can’t dream of. They are extremely rare, no more than a dozen born in a century. When a Sylph is born the people view this as a sign that momentous events are in the offing. As a consequence they tend to be loved, protected, outcast, and hated. Loved and sometimes protected by worshippers of Le’farin or others that cherish freedom, outcast by those that can’t seem to understand them or accept their differences, and hated by those that still worship evil and wish for nothing more than the corruption of everything working to balance the world.

Sylph Characteristics

Sylphs are individuals with much in common to the Aasimar, Ifrit, Oread, and Undine. Like them they have a spark of the divine within, but theirs comes from the very personification of Air and Freedom, Le’farin. Like the aforementioned Aasimar, Ifrit, Oread, and Undine; the Sylphs can be born of any parents. They tend to be close to human is size and proportion, baring only the faintest of indications of their birth parentage. In addition they tend to be pale and thin to the point of appearing delicate. Those who study them carefully notice that breezes seem to follow them wherever they go, even inside rooms with no windows. This is even more evident when they are feeling intense emotion, the winds surround the Sylph and tousle their hair or knock small items from shelves. Many sylphs have complex markings on their pale flesh that resemble tiny swirling designs like blue and gray tattoos, and the most exotic of their kind have hair that twists and coils almost as if it were made of living mist.
