Tieflings in the World
The Tieflings like the Aasimar, Ifrit, Oread, Sylphs, and Undine are chosen by the gods or in this case otherworldly powers such as a Arch-devil or Demon-lord, gifted with powers most can’t dream of. They are extremely rare, no more than a dozen born in a century. When a Tiefling is born the people view this as a bad omen and most are killed at birth, outcast, and hated. Some are born to and loved by followers of dark powers, protected, raised and trained in that groups particular belief system, usually for a specific purpose, while others make their own way in the world and despite all that is arrayed against them choose good. It is the belief of a few learned scholars that have stumbled upon this phenomena that the propensity of Tieflings towards evil is very much on how the people they encounter treat them in their formative years. This belief has yet to gain wide acceptance and as a consequence the stereotype of the shifty or downright evil Tiefling holds a great deal of sway with people.
Teiflings are individuals with much in common to the Aasimar, Ifrit, Oread, Sylphs, and Undine. Unlike them however they have a spark of the demonic, devilish, or other evil outsider in them. Like the aforementioned Ifrit, Oread, Sylphs, and Undine; the Aasimar can be born of any parents. They tend to be close to human is size and proportion, baring only the faintest of indications of their birth parentage. No two tief lings look alike; their tainted blood manifest in wildly different ways. One might appear completely normal except for a pair of tiny horns, another might smell of rotting blood and meat, another might have a small tail and tiny useless wings. Another might have a truly impressive mouth full of fangs. Each individual teiflings characteristics are a tell about the corrupting influence that produced them.
